A Great Time of Year to live on The Texas Coast

We are 9 days into the month of October. The temperatures have dropped into the 50’s a couple of nights. Trees are starting to drop a few leaves. Galveston Bay Water temps are dropping into the 70’s. The bay waters are starting to clear up. Migratory birds are starting to show up. Ducks are in the area. Archery season is underway. All in all it is a great time of year to live on the Texas Gulf Coast. This is one of my favorite times of year for many reasons. Fresh northerly air flushes the marshes and bayous. Clear night skies become the setting for memories made hunting the bay floors for flounder. Redfish are active and hungry. October is booked for flounder gigging and redfish marsh trips. November will be upon us soon, and though the flounder gigging will be closed briefly – there are many, many reasons to get out and enjoy our great Texas Gulf Coast. Redfish will be thick in the bayous and back lakes. Flounder fishing is superb. Trout fishing will be outstanding under feeding seagulls. Take a day and enjoy what the Texas Gulf Coast has to offer. You will be glad you did!
