Currents

I had Pete and his 12 year old son Benny for an afternoon trip yesterday.  I knew going into the trip, that the bite would likely be tough because of the slack tide.  The tides were very high, and very, very little current moving.  The incoming tide in the morning was the time to be fishing, but sometimes you just fish when you can fish….  We did end up picking up some nice specks, 1 flounder, a nice puppy drum, and a sheepshead, along with six or seven 18″ redfish.  We cant keep the reds unless they meet the 20″ minimum length, but they sure do put up a nice fight.  All in all a nice evening on the water with Father and Son down for spring break from Michigan.  I will be seeing them again, Benny wants to gig some flounder!
