Fishing Reports for Galveston, Texas

Fishing Report For Galveston, Texas

Our weekly Fishing Reports have been amazing lately, and this report seems to be more of the same!  Great Galveston Weather equals Amazing Texas Coastal Fishing.

Galveston Fishing Reports

Our Galveston Fishing Guides experienced some very good fishing for speckled trout and redfish the past few days.  Some very good tidal currents mixed in with some lite winds produce nice green water in our Galveston Bay System, and the speckled trout and red fish have been hungry.

Fishing Reports Galveston Texas

When the winds have been lite, the best areas for specks and redfish have been along the granite rock reefs that extend from Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula…. also commonly referred to as the Galveston Jetties.  The size and numbers of speckled trout have both been pretty spectacular.  Mixed in with our speckled trout have been nice slot redfish, sheepshead, and even Spanish Mackerel.  Live shrimp have been the top producer, and the croaker and piggy perch bite will be coming along soon.

Galveston Bay Fishing Reports

Another one of our Galveston Fishing Trips that has been producing good numbers of red fish as well as speckled trout is along the back lakes and bayous of Galveston.  The speckled trout in these areas tend to be smaller in size than the fish along the jetties and passes, but some nice fish are also mixed in.  Live Shrimp under a popping cork has been tough to beat, and tidal movements are definitely the key to feeding patterns.

Galveston Bay Fishing Charters

The red fish bite in the bayous has been very good, with trips producing up to 50 plus red fish on a five hour fishing charter!  This area is great to fish when the winds make open water fishing tough and also for those anglers that tend to get sea sick in open areas.  The back lakes are a great place for nice calm shallow water fishing and sea sickness is NEVER an issue that will happen.

Galveston Wade Fishing

This past week our Galveston Wade Fishing Trips produced very nice numbers of speckled trout.  We are wading sand bottom areas in 1 to 3 foot of water and catching nice speckled trout on top waters, plastics and hard baits as well.  These are artificial only trips, and are a great way to spend the morning or aftenoon hunting trophy speckled trout.
