Galveston Fishing Report Memorial Day Weekend

The fishing in Galveston is heating up and we are slamming some awesome fish.  Our Galveston Jetty Fishing Trips have had spectacular results for speckled trout, redfish, sheepshead, spanish mackeral, drum, bull reds and some Big ‘Ol Sharks!  Yes, the fishing is heating up in Galveston and we are anticipating an awesome Galveston Summer.  Our best baits have been live shrimp, and only using enough weight to compensate for the currents.  Actually the afternoon trips have had more success this past week due to the stronger tidal movements which will entice the fish to feed more aggressively.

Our Galveston Bay & Marsh charters are seeing very good results as well.  Redfish, and speckled trout are the most abundunt fish being caught, with numbers of flounder also increasing as the shad are becoming more abundunt in the bayous and shallow flats.  Live shrimp under a popping cork is the go to rig on our Galveston Bay Charters.  As the flounder become more abundunt, we will target them with plastics that most imitate the size of shad they are feeding on…. ‘Match the Hatch’ is our theory.

Our Galveston Night Fishing Charters are having great success for Giant Speckled Trout.  These trips are great to beat the heat and fill a box with fish!  On these night fishing trips – we will bring a ‘Surprise’ rod too that is used for Big Game.  Yes, there are some Big Sharks lurking in the night as well!
