Galveston Fishing Reports – June Fishing

Galveston Fishing Report

The Galveston Fishing Report remains ‘speck-tackler’ even after the passing of Tropical Storm Bill.  Limits of speckled trout, mixed in with Redfish, Sheepshead, Drum and even pompano has been the norm for the jetty and beachfront Galveston Fishing Charters.  Water temps have remained in the mid 80s and water clarity has changed due to TS Bill, but the speckled trout bite remains very good.  One change we have seen is the shark bite has been a bit slow after the storm, but I expect the sharks to show back any day now.  When the sharks show again…. it is back in full swing.

The Deep Sea Fishing for Red Snapper remains good.  The past week we have seen some increasing currents which do make the seas higher.  This does limit the distance we can travel out to the 80 mile plus range.  The currents will lessen and we will be back in the deep blue very soon.  Mahi bite had been very good along a couple of the weedlines, and king fish bite will be in full effect as well.  Dates available for Red Snapper Fishing are June 29, July 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10 & 13.

Galveston Fishing Report

As the summer progresses, fishing will only get better and better.  The summer currents will bring the blue water in closer and closer to Galveston, Texas – with this comes the many different species.  Last summer, numerous tarpon, cobia, mangrove snapper and even 3 sailfish were caught within 10 miles of Galveston Beach.
