Galveston Fishing Reports - November Outlook

November 1, 2015

Galveston Fishing Reports

November Fishing in Galveston likely is the most productive month for great catches of the top 3 sought after game fish in Galveston Bay - Red Fish, Speckled Trout and Flounder.  Though mother nature has not been very cooperative throughout October, and it seems we are a month behind with patterns, water temps, and overall weather conditions - We know that cooler weather is on the way, and Fall Fishing will be on fire.

Galveston Flounder Fishing

If there was ever a month to catch a new state record flounder - November is the absolute best month to catch a trophy of a lifetime flounder in Galveston.  We will target the 'funnel areas' these fish migrate thru on their way to the Gulf of Mexico for their annual spawn.  This is what is referred to as the well know Galveston Fall Flounder Run.  First to show up in these areas are the males, and not far behind will be the large females.  We will target these outlets and funnels with live baits as well as plastic jigs.  The most popular natural bait is live finger mullet, but live piggys and shrimp will work as well.  We also will use plastic Gulp baits in a variety of colors, and many times these will be more successful than the live baits.

November Fishing Reports

November Fishing for Redfish and Speckled trout can be very fast and furious as well.  We will target birds working as cooler temperatures and northern flow winds will push shrimp and other baitfish out of the marshes into the main bays and speckled trout and redfish will feed up on these huge schools of baitfish.  Live shrimp, live finger mullet and topwater baits are all productive at this time.  We will fish main bays as well bayous and mud flats for reds, trout and flounder during this time.
