Galveston Speckled Trout

May 7, 2012

Sunday I had return customer, Colton, his sons Christian and Trey as well and his friend Shane.  Despite the full moon the past couple days, we were able to put some very nice Speckled Trout in the box.  The bait of choice was live shrimp under a Cajun Thunder Popping Cork, with a few fish being caught free lining shrimp as well.  Also, the black tip sharks are being landed as well when we target them.  We caught seven nice black tips Sunday, and left them biting to box some specks.  We could have caught well over 20 sharks if we wanted to.  After we caught, photo, and released 7 sharks - we opted to go find some specks which we did up to 26".  The fishing is great, and will only get better!  I am looking forward to a great summer for fishing in Galveston Bay!  It is always a pleasure having Colton and his sons on board.  Great family and they love to fish!!!
