Texas Flounder Gigging

This is a great time of year to be on the Texas Coast.  Flounder Gigging in Texas is really heating up right now.  Fall is here, though the temps are still in the upper 80’s lower 90’s at times – the daylight hours are getting shorter, and the temps are slowly dropping once the sun goes down.  We are beginning to see big female flounder moving into the shallows.  Last night we had four fish well over 22″ in our lights.  Texas Flounder Gigging is a longtime tradition here along the Gulf Coast, and is a great adventure for young, old, guys, and gals.  There is just something about that fresh cool air, a star lit sky, and the thrill of spotting the BIG Texas Flounder laying in the shallows.  The Texas Flounder Run is just getting started, and Galveston Bay is full of Flounder.

Last night the winds were a little stiff, but we still managed some very nice flounder.  We found most of them on oyster shell adjacent to the channels.  The water temps are in the mid 70s and dropping.  One more good cool front and I believe the Texas Flounder Run in Galveston Bay will be in full swing!  Book your Texas Flounder Gigging Guide today with Fishing Galveston TX and experience the thrill of a lifetime.
