Texas Flounder Gigging and Fishing Report

This past week has been a great week to be on the Texas Coast.  We are in the last part of September.  Days are getting shorter, nights getting longer, water temperatures are dropping…. and fish are feeding.

Our Galveston Fishing Charters are catching very good numbers of speckled trout over oyster reefs using live shrimp under a Cajun Thunder Popping Cork.  When we find the bait we find the fish, and bait is everywhere.  Tides are playing a part in the feeding times.  We like the beginning of a new tide and a slacking tide.  This is a great time to be an angler on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Our Galveston Flounder Gigging Charters are having very good success with full limits of very large Texas Gulf Coast Flounder.  This is our favorite time of year to be running Fishing Charters on Galveston Bay.  From redfish in the back lakes to flounder gigging at night – there is always something to fish for with good success.  We have had some very good weather this past week.  Light winds, and clear waters have made our fishing trips very successful this past week.

We have some openings available for October flounder gigging as well as December.  November we have to put the gigs up because Texas Parks and Wildlife shuts gigging down in that month, but December will be great as usual.  November we will be slamming the slot redfish, specks and flounder on rod & reel!  Pick up the phone and give me a call, and we will get you out on the water.  409-739-8526
