Galveston Flounder RunFall has finally made its presence known here on the Texas Gulf Coast.  Water temperatures have dropped, and fishing action is heating up.  November has always been a special time of year for me to fish the Galveston Bay Complex and run Galveston Fishing Charters.  With so many annual migrations taking place on land, water and in the air – it is a great time of year for the Outdoorsman and women to witness the truly amazing journeys of wildlife along the Texas Gulf Coast.

My favorite place to be during the month of November is cruising the bayous and back lakes of the Galveston Bay Complex.  Not only can the fishing be ‘Off The Hook’, the wildlife in these areas is spectacular.  Pin Tails, Gadwall, Teal, Widgeon, Geese, Sandhill Crane, and more will be filling the fly ways and fields as they make their way south for the winter.  Cooler water temperatures, high pressure, north winds will drop water levels flushing bait fish out of the back bayous.  Flounder, redfish, and speckled trout will be found not far behind feeding on these bait fish.  Also, with the cooler water temperatures – we find clearer water.  Our Galveston Fishing Guides will key in on shallow flats with near by drains, drop offs, wind blown banks and oyster reefs during this time.  We now also provideGalveston Flounder Run lodging for these trips.  Our water front lodge can sleep up to 11 people, and our Fall Rate is only $200 per night.

Another great area to target this time of year is the funnel areas from the bays to the Gulf – where flounder will be passing.  If you are looking for something besides a turkey to stuff for Thanksgiving – surprise the family with Stuffed Galveston Flounder on the table this Thanksgiving Feast!  Now is the time to get in on the flounder action.  We are running weekday specials (Monday thru Thursday) for Galveston Flounder Run.  A four hour trip for up to three people – $450.  Add $50 for each additional.  We will be using artificial baits for flounder.  Live bait can be used for extra charge.
