The fishing over the past week has been very good in the back lakes and marshes on our Galveston Fishing Charters. Lots of red fish are being caught with some speckled trout and black drum mixed in. We have not really seen a great flounder bite yet, but that will happen as the water temperatures continue to fall. We are fishing oyster reefs in 2 to 3 feet of water in the back lakes using live shrimp under a popping cork. We are also using live mullet at times and will be using mullet more often as the temperatures drop.

The flounder gigging in Galveston Bay has been very good when water conditions allow. High tides have made the gigging a bit of a challenge on some nights, but when the tides fall – we are gigging some nice fish. October is a great month to get out on the bay for an exciting evening of Galveston flounder gigging! Remember – TPWD closes gigging from Nov 1 thru Dec 15 so book your trip today!

We recently upgraded our deep-sea boat to a 36-foot Contender with trip 300’s. We have the new boat dialed in and are excited to offer some offshore trips this “off season”. The fall/winter is a great time for a deep sea fishing charter to target Swordfish/Yellowfin Tuna/Grouper and Wahoo.

The trips are 36hrs and can be tailored to target any of the above species or all the above. We’re on a lot bigger boat than our old one but will still be somewhat “roughing it” on a center console.
We have Starlink on the boat so we will have cell service to call home if needed. We also have a grill for cooking steaks/burgers and anything else that y’all might want to bring along with plenty of freshwater to take showers. We offer these trips in November, December, January and February. This is a great time of year to get on the gulf with cooler temps and great fishing.

This November we are offering “Bring a Kid Fishing for Free!” We pride ourselves in being Galveston’s Premier Kid Friendly Fishing Charter, and this month we encourage everyone to get those kids out on the water. Thanksgiving break in November along with other holidays – it is a great time to bring a kid fishing!

Don’t forget we offer water front lodging where you can catch the boat from your own dock for a fun day of fishing! The Freeport Fishing Lodge is a great place for a weekend getaway!
