There is on thing that is for certain when it comes to the weather in Texas – don’t try to predict anything.  Once again, we are approaching the month of November and water levels in our Bays are extremely high like a September month would expect.  The water temperatures have fallen – but not below 70 yet.  The one constant that we do know is – the fish are there and we adjust to the weather.

The back lakes and marshes of Galveston and Freeport are full up with nice redfish and juvenile speckled trout.  The flounder action is increasing, and we are finally beginning to see a more stable flounder pattern as they begin the early stages of their annual migration.  The few cool fronts that we have experienced has dropped allot of rain, and the freshwater runoff does flush the marshes of baitfish which the flounder will follow.  We are in need of one good North western cool front to help flush the bays, drop water levels and lower water temperatures.  The Northeastern fronts we have had just will not push water out of the Galveston Bay system like the western flow will.

The Galveston Jetties are still seeing many, many Spanish mackerel along both sets.  Also, the bull red and slot red bite has been very solid.  As the temperatures continue to fall – we will be targeting redfish throughout the month of November.  The flounder bite will also become more steady as the migration comes full swing.

Speckled trout in West Galveston Bay has been decent and will continue to get better as the State of Texas Weather finally decides to cooperate and the fall season sets in.  The San Luis Pass, Greens Lake and Chocolate are areas we will be targeting throughout the month of November.

If you are looking for a great fall vacation on the Texas Coast a fishing trip is an amazing way to enjoy the Texas Coast.  We offer waterfront lodging at Bay’s Landing and the boats will pick you up from the back patio.  Give us a call and ask about our Fall Fishing & Lodging Specials that will last throughout December.
