Galveston Fishing Reports – Summer Patterns

Galveston Speckled Trout

The Fishing Report for Galveston continues to be solid. The Galveston Jettys has been the hot spot the past week. We finished up June and entered July with nice catches of speckled trout to 7 lbs.  Live shrimp has been the go to bait for the most part, but some very solid specks are being caught on live piggy perch and croaker.  Also, sharks have made their way back inland after running from the freshwater.  This past week we have caught black tip, sand bar, spinner, Atlantic Sharpnose, and bonnet heads sharks.  Galveston Shark Fishing will continue to get better and better as the beach temperatures continue to warm.  This past Tuesday after we had a box of nice speckled trout, our customers wanted to try to go catch a shark and we had 11 runs in less than one hour of shark fishing!  The sharks are back and Galveston Shark Fishing is on Fire!

Sharks in Galveston

The Galveston Bay and Marsh Fishing has been good lately as well.  Many redfish just under the legal length limit as well as some that meet the slot are in the back lakes along oyster reefs and drains.  Flounder are also showing up as usual for their summer feeding in the bayous on small shad and shrimp.  Lots of panfish, croaker, puppy drum as well as sheepshead are great fun for kids to battle on a Galveston Fishing Trip.  The Bay and Marsh is a great fishing area for families that want to catch allot of fish without the threat of sea sickness.

This past week I had a couple of ladies book a fishing charter for a Mother Day Out.  It was a great day of fishing for Darla and Alice.  They caught their limits of speckled trout, and a redfish to boot!

Great day and a great way to spend the day!  Some would rather go to the nail salon…. some wanna go catch fish!

Galveston Deep Sea Fishing

Our Galveston Deep Sea fishing has been great when the seas have allowed us to get out there.  With June behind us, July will bring more stable winds and calm seas.  For anyone wanting to catch Mahi or as some call Dorado, King Mackerel, Red Snapper (until July 14th), ling or cobia, wahoo, tuna, amberjack, shark and more – a July Deep Sea Fishing charter is a sure bet.

We also will be having our Galveston Summer Kids Summer Fish Camp on July 21 and 22.  This is a two day camp and more informations can be found here.

Summer is here and Fishing in Galveston Texas is a great way to spend time with your family!  Give us a call and let one of our Professional Galveston Fishing Guides get you hooked up!  409-739-8526
