Galveston has become the most popular Family Spring Break Destination in Texas, and for excellent reason.  With water temperatures rising at the end of this month – this signals lots of great things that take place year after year.  Great fishing opportunities happen during March and April.  The most popular fish to target during this time in Galveston Bay and Surf are BaySnapper – aka Sheepshead.  These fish create great fish catching action no matter your skill level.  With a little instruction from our professional Galveston Fishing Guides – beginners to experts will be bowed up on some of the finest tasting fish in the bays.  During March and April these fish migrate from the Gulf of Mexico to the passes that connect the bays to the Gulf where they perform their annual spawn.  It is not uncommon to catch BaySnapper that weigh in the double digits during Spring Break in Galveston. 

Another amazing fish to catch during your Spring Break Vacation in Galveston is Giant Black Drum which are also performing their annual spawn.  These monster size fish are catch – photo and release.  Black Drum are sure to test your fish catching endurance as these fish will pull hard until they can’t pull anymore!  Black drum are great fun for anglers to experience an extreme battle on the same gear that we use to catch the big offshore fish of the Gulf of Mexico.
