Summer is finally here and the Fishing in Galveston has been spectacular! From our night time Speckled Trout Fishing Charters to Deep Sea Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, night time flounder gigging – we are catching some awesome fish and having a great time doing it. Also, we cant forget to mention our Galveston Summer Fishing Camps for Kids that are going on in June and July! Check out our many trips we offer and we guarantee to have a trip that is right for you and your family while visiting Galveston Island!
Red Snapper season was a little short this year with only nine days to harvest these great eating fish. We made the best of the shortened season, and when mother nature allowed we were bringing full limits in each trip. When we were bottom dropping for these tasty Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper… as we would hook into a fish – many, many more… hundreds more would follow the hooked fish to the surface! There is no shortage of Red Snapper in my opinion! Although Red Snapper season is over… there is still plenty of fish to catch on one of our Galveston Deep Sea Fishing Charters.
On our deep sea – offshore trips, after we fill our limits of Red Snapper, we then fish for the many other species that our Gulf has to offer. Kingfish, Ling (Cobia), Mahi-Mahi, are just to name a few. We hooked into some extremely large fish that were quite a battle to land!
You never know what you may hook into on a Galveston Deep Sea Fishing charter. Thru the summer we will be targeting oil platforms, weedlines, shrimp boats, and plenty of bottom structure to hook into trophy Kings, Ling, and one of my favorites Mahi-Mahi to name just a few.
Our Jetty Trips have been producing some great fishing during June. These are our most popular trips during the summer months. With just a short boat ride to the fishing areas – the Galveston Jetties are a great place to hook into the trophy of a lifetime. If you want to fill the cooler with good tasting eating fish, the Speckled Trout and Redfish are very abundunt right now, and we are catching good numbers. Live Shrimp is our bait of choice when targeting Specks and Reds.
I cant forget to mention the fact that there is always a chance of hooking into a tail walking tarpon on a Galveston Jetty trip as well. We hooked and landed the first Galveston Tarpon of the Year on May 31.
If hooking into a fierce, fast, strong shark sounds like fun – we can hook you into one or more of those along the jetties right now. The shark fishing has been great along with bull reds. Bigger tackle and Bigger Baits are sure to get you hooked into one or more of the many species of sharks lurking the Galveston Jetties – Black Tips, Hammerheads, Spinners, Atlantic Sharpnose to name a few.
The night time speckled trout and flounder gigging has been good also. Although high winds have caused us to reschedule a number of flounder gigging trips – there are more flounder in Galveston Bay than I have ever seen… we just need mother nature to calm the winds down and we know where the flounder are hiding.
Galveston Summer time Flounder Gigging is great – mother nature just needs to cooperate!
We held our first Galveston Summer Kids Fishing Camp this week and it was a great time. The kids learned proper fishing knots, how to cast, breaking down spinning reels, how to battle a fish, and many more great skills that will follow them the rest of their lives. Not to mention getting out on the Galveston Bay with our Fishing Guides for two days of fishing! Once again the kids had a blast and we look forward to our next camp on June 26 & 26. Our July camps are July 8 & 9 and then again on July 22 & 23. These are two day camps held for kids ages 8 to 14.
We have a trip that is right for you! Our Kid friendly Galveston Fishing Guides will put you on the fish, and put smile on your families faces! 409-739-8526
