The Galveston Fishing Report has been very good. It is a great time to get the kids out on a Galveston Fishing Trip before school starts. We anticipate some more amazing fishing to finish out our Galveston Summer Fishing Season. With water temperatures in the upper 80s, we are seeing the fish move to deeper locations as well as a wide variety of species moving in from the Gulf. Speckled trout has been the most abundunt and popular catch lately, with the redfish really beginning to show up as well. Best baits for some very action packed speckled trout slamming has been live shrimp as well as live piggy perch. As the month of August moves forward, we draw closer and closer to the popularBull Red Fish Season as this awesome fish begins its annual pre spawn. The red fish bite will really begin to heat up the next couple of weeks at the inlets of the Bays from the Gulf of Mexico.
The past couple of weeks, mother nature has went from one extreme to the other regarding winds. It seems there is literally zero wind or its gusting 17 knots or better. Our Galveston Fishing Guides have been adapting to her and putting very nice catches in the box. Along with very nice catches of speckled trout and redfish, our Galveston Fishing Charters are also hooking into some very strong sharks and stingrays. Black Tip, Spinner Shark, Atlantic Sharpnose, and more species are making their to the passes and beachfront as the water temperatures continue to increase and more and more bait fish are showing up.
The offshore fishing in Galveston has been very good when the winds are light and we can get out to the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. King Mackerel, Sharks, Ling, tuna, amberjack and more are being caught on our Galveston Deep Sea Fishing Trips. August is typically the best month to get out on the open waters in the Gulf and catch some line screaming fish!
